What we do

Three disciplines, one team

Sole Design is a design and implementation company that carries out enterprise software, engineering and architectural work within a single team.

Projects begin with a requirements analysis. The process is examined on site, the staff who run it and the relevant department managers are consulted, and the scope is defined in writing. Development starts once that definition is approved.

Keeping the three disciplines under one roof removes coordination loss on interdependent work. A production facility's layout, its equipment models and the software that runs its operations are produced by the same team, consistently with one another.

Software and applications

Enterprise applications designed around the company's own workflow. Web and mobile, with role-based authorisation.

  • Field and operations management

    Work order creation, task assignment, crew tracking, service forms and photo upload from the field. Every record's status, planned date and owner is visible on one screen.

  • Inventory and warehouse management

    Stock movements, part requests, low-level alerts and used-part tracking. Quality tiers are tracked separately.

  • Staff and timesheets

    Shift records, overtime and per diem calculated automatically. The monthly timesheet goes to the manager for approval.

  • Quote and order management

    The process runs on a single record from customer enquiry to delivery. Data entered once is not requested again in other modules.

  • Role-based authorisation

    Management, sales, field and warehouse roles access only records within their own scope. Authorisation is enforced server-side, not on the client.

  • Offline operation

    During connection loss, records queue on the device and are transmitted automatically once connectivity returns.

Solid modelling and technical documentation for manufacture.

  • Part and assembly modelling

    Solid modelling from single parts to multi-part assemblies. A parametric structure propagates dimensional changes across the whole model during revisions.

  • Technical drawings and production files

    Dimensioned and toleranced drawing sets, prepared with material, surface treatment and welding notes.

  • Reverse engineering

    3D models and technical drawings produced by measuring an existing physical part — for parts with no drawings, or drawings no longer current.

  • Assembly and motion validation

    Tolerance fit and interference checking for moving components is carried out on the model before manufacture.

  • Visualisation

    Product imagery and exploded assembly drawings for quotes and presentation documents.

Architectural design and drafting services, from schematic to construction stage.

  • Architectural projects

    All stages from schematic design through detailed design to construction drawings. The drawing set required for the permit application is included.

  • Interior design

    Spatial layout, material and fixture selection, and dimensioned detail drawings for construction.

  • Facility and production layout

    Layout plans prepared by assessing production flow, material handling and staff circulation together.

  • Visualisation

    Stills, interior renders and walkthrough video.

Method

How projects run

  1. 01

    Requirements analysis

    The process is examined on site; the staff who run it and the relevant department managers are consulted. Existing systems and data sources are identified.

  2. 02

    Scope and proposal

    Scope, deliverables, schedule and price are defined in writing. Work begins once that definition is mutually approved.

  3. 03

    Development

    Work proceeds through interim deliveries. Output is demonstrated at each stage and feedback is carried into the next.

  4. 04

    Commissioning and support

    Installation, user training and documentation handover, followed by technical support for the period defined in the contract.
